Our bipartisan campaign was supported from by members of all parties.
In Senate District 12, we received higher percentages than
Barack Obama did in all of El Paso County!

Just because we got fewer votes than our opponent does not mean we didn’t achieve success. Sometimes success does not take the forms we hope for.

We have run a campaign of conscience and integrity focusing on the issues that affect people every day - jobs, the economy, education, healthcare, energy the environment and justice. We stayed with the significant issues and that is success of a high order.

Although I was disappointed by our vote count, as well as by the results of some of the amendments, I am exuberant and optimistic about our future. We have an opportunity to move in a new direction. I am excited by the journey. As a result of this campaign, I am better prepared to participate and contribute to it. This has been a successful campaign. Thanks for your help in making it a success.
